My Anguilla Experience
I don’t know about you, but whenever I see Sandra Lovell (swipe left for more pics), I think Insurance, particularly Alliance Insurance 😀. Sandra is the Director of Alliance Insurance. With her open, friendly and caring nature it is no surprise that she believes that ‘Insurance is for everyone.’ Certainly, today in the continued spirit of gratitude, I am thankful that I have health insurance🙏🏽.Sandra has been with Alliance Insurance Services - Anguilla since the seeds for this essential business were planted in 2006. My first meaningful encounter with Sandra was at an ACOCI Business after Hours event hosted by Alliance in 2015. Prior to that I had been hearing good things about Alliance from friends and family. When talking about Insurance at that event she said, ‘I tell everyone whether you have health insurance with us or you have taken it with someone else, in this day and age , you need health information/insurance. The day will come when all of us will get sick. Please get health insurance.’ Those words stuck with me.Today, I am happy to see how this business has grown. When I returned to Anguilla last year, transitioning to insurance coverage with Alliance Insurance was seamless and I am grateful.Do you have health insurance? If you don’t, I know the lovely Sandra Lovell (I mean ‘Love’ ❤️😀is in her actual name after all, would be happy to help).Tell her I said 👋🏽 😀. #anguilla #islandliving #caribbeanlife #caribbeanblogger #healthinsurance #healthylifestyle #healthishappiness #healthinfo #islandlife #allianceinsurance #myanguillaexperience ... My Anguilla Experience
This mama needed a grown-up break 😀🏃🏿‍♀️.My top requirements were to feel safe, good convo, great food, no kids and a mojito…Ummm I mean a lemonade 😀🤷🏾‍♀️.I was excited to try IWASATTHEBAR with my mom and sis. We sat on the covered patio with the pretty fairy lights. It has this chill open air vibe and I felt completely relaxed. Next up was to try their new menu. I could write a whole blog about it (which I will, so look out for it😀). We ordered lots of small plates and shared and tried different dishes. I love bonding and creating memories over food and drinks❤️.My fave menu items so far were the wings, angry dragon (sushi rolls), the Portuguese rock shrimp and the coconut rice 😋😋.If you are looking for somewhere to chill, eat, drink and laugh this weekend with a few friends or family, do checkout @iwasatthebar.If you see me there again, just give me a big social distanced hello 👋🏽🙋🏾‍♀️. Have a fabulous weekend!Have you tried @iwasatthebar yet? What was your fave item?...#anguilla #caribbeanrestaurant #caribbean #caribbeanfood #caribbeanblogger #iwasatthebar #caribbeanbloggers #islandlife #islandvibes #blacklove #eaaats #asiancuisine #blackfamily #ihavethisthingwithwalls #blackblogger #caribbeanliving #myanguillaexperience ... My Anguilla Experience
I can’t swim 🏊🏽‍♀️🤿.This is the most common response given in a recent survey I did about why persons are not willing or ready to go diving in Anguilla.Other reasons were 🌊The sea has no back door or (it ain gah no back door 😀)🦈Sharks and Predators😱Fear of the deep🧘🏾‍♀️ We can’t breathe under water for a reason.I totally get each of these responses 😀. We should all have a healthy respect and fear for the ocean.I have only gone diving (a discover dive) once and it was the most amazing experience (swipe left). It was then I realized that there truly is another world beyond our sand and shores to be explored and enjoyed. In an article, I wrote for Design Anguilla Magazine years ago (before I had kids), I said the following about my diving experience at Little Bay,‘I felt as if I had been transported to a beautiful place only reserved for the few who had the courage to venture below the surface.’In many ways, motherhood has made me more courageous. In others, I have become more cautious. I will certainly go for another dive but yes in the back of my mind I will remember the sea ain’t got no back door 😁.For now though, I will sit pretty on rocks at Little Bay, kayak, sail, frolic in the waves and take long strolls on the beach 👙🏝.What about you? Let me know how you spend your time on the beach below.#anguilla #surroundmewithwater #caribbeanliving #islandlife #caribbeanblogger #caribbeanblue #caribbeanbloggers #womanonarock #anguillabeaches #blackblogger #blackgirls #myanguillaexperience ...
