Beach days with Xavi

I will admit that I don’t swim as much as I should. However, I do spend a significant amount of time at the beach, particularly Shoal Bay. Many evenings Xavi and I just drop everything and head to the beach for an hour or two so he can run around and play in the sand. I love this Xavi and me time. These moments with Xavi are like sunlight. They provide a perfect opportunity to connect, relax and unwind. Worries truly do seem to fade away when you are surrounded by the natural beauty of Anguilla’s beaches.

Shoal Bay is the beach we frequent most because it is close to home. It is also the perfect beach for an active pre-schooler with its wide expanse of powdery white sand. When Xavi couldn’t walk I carried him in my arms as we walked the beach. Since he started to walk, Shoal Bay truly has been Xavi’s playground. The beach is usually almost deserted in the late evening and we just revel in our perfect little “island living bubble.”

These days he sometimes runs from Tropical Sunset to Madeariman on Shoal Bay beach because he wants pizza. He loves pizza and eating out too apparently!

So we are making the most of our beach days for 2018. I am planning to go to the beach every day until we leave even if just for a few minutes. Check out my Facebook and Instagram stories daily for what we are up to and for beautiful pictures of our beaches.

I am writing an entire series about things I will miss once we leave Anguilla. See my first two blog posts below.

Keep in Touch

No worries. Even after we leave, we will continue to post beautiful pictures of Anguilla on our My Anguilla Experience Instagram and Facebook pages as team members are still on island :).

I am also inviting you to follow me on this blog (or perhaps a new blog coming soon) and on my Facebook and Instagram page @shelleciabjohnson as this ‘sun-loving’ Anguillian girl transitions and builds a new (temporary) life in England :).

An adventure lies ahead :).
