The fifth annual charity fashion show for Runway Anguilla entitled “FIRE” was held on Sunday April 19th, 2015 at Coba Restaurant at Viceroy Resort.

The day before the event, I tried to get an extra ticket and was pleasantly surprised and disappointed at the same time that the event was sold out. Runway Anguilla has gained immense popularity in a few short years. This is not surprising as it is a well organised, fun event with fabulous fashion on display and all the proceeds are donated to charity. This year the funds were earmarked to assist elderly persons and citizens with disabilities with medical related support and youth in need with educational supplies for school.

When I arrived brunch was being served. I quickly joined the line and enjoyed a meal of macaroni pie, rice and peas, potato salad, chicken, shrimps and veggies. A bit starch heavy I know. I am working on it! The last time I was at VIceroy was for the AHTA Tourism Gala and the meal then was scrumptious.

The show quickly got underway with the welcome and introduction by Janine Edwards of Sunset Homes. The emcees Patricia Bygrave and Maurice Bryan Sasso then came to the podium and kept the guests entertained and informed for the duration of the afternoon.

Men’s and Women’s fashion were showcased from Irie Life, Zazaa and Viceroy Strata Boutique at Runway Anguilla

Irie Life

Irie Life located in back street South Hill and Little Irie is located in Sandy Ground. These are lovely boutiques popular with visitors and locals alike. The fashions depicted were cool, relaxing lifestyle and beach wear pieces in vibrant blues, greens and sunset hues.  T-shirts, linen dresses, fedoras, swimsuits, flip flops, bags, wraps and much more can all be found at Irie Life.

Zazaa

Zazaa Boutique is owned by Sue and Robin Ricketts. With multiple locations including Shoal Bay East, South Hill and at Anacaona hotel, you are never too far from one of these popular boutiques.  The fashions are light and airy with a comfortable fit. On the runway for Zazaa was the Samson line (sun inspired designs) out of St. Maarten. This company produces small qualities of clothing in any particular design because each piece has delicate and intricate hand embroidery and bead embellishment. Stop by Zazaa for linen pieces, swim suits, 100% cotton items, hats, jewellery, wraps and much more.

Viceroy Strata Boutique

This boutique at Viceroy carries designer fashions.  On the runway were high-end fashions from a number of designers. Locals and guests can visit Strata Boutique to find high-end shoes, apparel, jewellery and sundries.

Runway Anguilla would not have been possible without the brunch which was provided by platinum sponsor Viceroy Resort and Residences. Supporting headline sponsors were Lime and Cape Air and Unique Trading Ltd provided complimentary breakfast for the backstage crew.

The silent auction was well received and numerous prizes were provided by a wide range of sponsors.
