Senior Programme Officer (Arts and Culture) Ms. Avon Carty in a feature on Culture in the 50th Anniversary magazine shared, “Culture is incredibly dynamic. It is a reflection of a community, society and people which embraces their history and heritage; past and present. It is a blend of who they were and who they are. And as Anguillian society evolves the awareness and appreciation of Anguilla’s youth for Anguillian culture will determine how much of Anguilla’s heritage and cherished traditions will make up the Anguillian culture of tomorrow.”

Anguilla Summer Festival has evolved over the last couple of years and now includes a mix of exciting and traditional shows and events and new and vibrant events which appeal to a younger audience. Indeed there is something for everyone. Johan Huizinga said, “If we are to preserve culture we must continue to create it.”    DYC says kudos to all who continue to contribute in big and small ways to the preservation and evolution of Anguilla’s culture.
