At the beginning of June, I celebrated a milestone birthday – my 30th birthday! I went back and forth for a long time on how exactly I wanted to celebrate the special occasion. Ideally, a vacation would have been perfect as I love travelling and experiencing new places, however as I was already heading on vacation the following month I decided to save money and opt for the next best option (or as I’m now realising – the best option!) and celebrate with a staycation at Fountain Anguilla. It turned out to be exactly what I needed, a weekend of rest and relaxation, in a beautiful location filled with all the comforts of a vacation but zero of the stress of actually travelling. Perfect!

I was actually not very familiar with Fountain Anguilla before my stay, but based on my experience, I would definitely recommend this lovely hotel for your next vacation/staycation! Here are three reasons why I think Fountain Anguilla should be your next home away from home

1.) Located on one of the best beaches in the world

Gorgeous Shoal Bay

Anguilla is well known for its beautiful beaches none more popular than gorgeous Shoal Bay. This picturesque beach is consistently rated as one of the best beaches regionally and worldwide. A long stretch of powdery white sand and turquoise waters, it is easy to see why this beach is so loved. Despite being Anguilla’s most famous beach, overcrowding is not an issue here (or at any other beach in Anguilla for that matter). Rather, whether it’s the busy tourist season or the slow season, there is always a cozy stretch of this beach that you can call yours for the day!

Fountain Anguilla
is one of the few hotels/resorts located on Shoal Bay. While the property is not directly on the beach, an easy and accessible beach path means that you can be feet in the sand in just a few short minutes.

2.) Great Cuisine and Live Music is just a short walk away.

Aside from being located on one of the best beaches in the world, Fountain Anguilla also has the added benefit of being close to many fantastic restaurants ideally located along idyllic Shoal Bay. There are lots of cuisine options to choose from serving island favorites like crayfish/lobster, snapper and fresh cocktails!

One of my personal favorites is Madeariman. The mussels and the passion fruit margarita are a must try! There is also live music available through out the week at several venues along Shoal Bay including Madeariman and Gwen’s Reggae Bar and Grill. Dance the night away under the stars!

The restaurants and nightlife is close enough to the property to access by walking but also far enough so you can still enjoy the peace and tranquility of Shoal Bay.

3.) It’s affordable

Let’s be honest, cost matters. With Fountain Anguilla not only are the rooms affordable, you also get great value for money. The property offers three bedroom options including studio suites starting from $165 daily, one bedroom villas starting from $175 daily and two bedroom villas starting from $275 daily. All prices are quoted in US dollars. All rooms are fully equipped with all necessities including air conditioning, high speed WiFi and modern finishings. With each room there is also concierge services, complimentary laundry facilities and complimentary beach chairs and umbrellas on Shoal Bay.

Property features include tropical gardens, a large swimming pool and beachfront access. All the rooms are very spacious. The villa properties also include a living room and fully equipped kitchen. The property is great for families and persons interested in longer stays. It is also perfect for locals looking to celebrate special occasions, birthdays or anniversaries!
