Planning my Anguilla Wedding – Part 1

Hi everyone. Let’s jump right in!

So what’s happening in my life right now? Well, I am planning my wedding in Anguilla. How exciting is that? It is going to be a small, intimate affair and I am really excited. I now have 7 days left till the big day.

Let me be honest, I have been anything but a bridezilla in this whole process (my opinion!). In fact I have been accused of being way too laid back. I don’t think many brides fit that description. Nevertheless I am certain that our day will be special (big smile).

I am busy checking things off of my To Do List. There are the big obvious and important items like my wedding licence, wedding bands, the church and reception location and the dress..yes the dress ( which I absolutely love)! Then there are the less obvious but perhaps equally important things to pay attention to like having  a nice hanger for the dress or ensuring that I have my ‘something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue.’

Nash and I are planning a nice wedding but we are definitely doing our best to control costs. The good news is that most wedding vendors in Anguilla are pretty versatile. They can provide assistance for weddings for which costs are not an issue but are also willing to work with those who want a nice day at a much lower cost.

I don’t want to share a lot about my wedding day yet and who I am working with but stay tuned to learn more and to see our wedding pictures.

I truly can’t imagine getting married and taking my wedding photos anywhere else other than Anguilla. My photographer is Derrys Richardson (an old school friend) of Signature 7602 Studios and an excellent and sought after photographer for weddings and other events.

I will be sitting down with him soon to talk about where I would like my photos to be taken. There are so many beautiful locations around the island. How will I decide? In Anguilla, we have 33 gorgeous awe-inspiring beaches, traditional houses which evoke feelings of nostalgia and romance, scenic and lush hotel lawns and gardens, award winning villa and resort architecture and the list goes on. Any of these places can form the back drop for some of my most important photos and memories.

Well I still have a few days to decide on some picture perfect locations. Help me to make my decision by posting a comment or a picture of your favourite locations for wedding photos below.
